What is Calabria Relocation Program?

The region of Calabria located in Southern Italy and is known for its Beautiful Coastline, Picturesque Villages, and Delicious local Cuisine.

The aim of the initiative is to reverse the years of population decline and revitalize the region’s small villages. By attracting new residents, the region hopes to stimulate the economic growth and create new opportunities for local businesses

At least nine villages have registered to take part in the program since the middle of 2021, including:

  • ALBIDONA, CALABRIA: This beach and mountain resort is located around 7 miles inland from the Ionian Sea and 11 miles from the mountains of Pollino National Park. If that’s not enough to entice you, you may own a house there for as little as €1 (90.44 Rs. only).
  • SANTA SEVERINA, CALABRIA: Surrounded by hills, Santa Severina is perched on a rocky cliff with views of the river and palm palms. The town is a showcase for the architectural change from the Norman to Byzantine Empire periods, with the Neto river cutting through it for around six kilometers.

Who can apply:

The initiative is open to anyone who is interested in relocating to Calabria’s small villages. However, there are certain criteria that applicants must meet. Applicants must:

  • over 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid Passport or an ID card.
  • Have health insurance.
  • able to demonstrate that they have sufficient financial resources to support themselves and there family

The Calabria relocation Program is an initiative launched by the Italian Government to encourage people to relocate to the Southern region of Calabria, offering financial incentives to those who choose to do so.

Additionally, some T&Cs for those who apply under the Calabria region’s program:

  • You must under 40 years old.
  • You must reside there permanently.
  • You must dedicate yourself to either launching a new company or finding employment in a certain, in-demand field.
  • Additionally, if your application is accepted, you must relocate there within ninety days, therefore you must have your visa application completed by the time you apply for this award.

The program states that around $755,000 in cash has been made available to assist new residents in opening restaurants, hotels, and other tourism-related companies.
